About the IT Alliance

The IT Alliance is a not-for-profit focused in the Information Technology sector on Prince Edward Island. Founded in 2022, it now represents more than 1,400 pure-play IT individuals and companies. The IT Alliance is gearing up for an exciting phase of growth which will include a recast of the strategic plan, introduction of programming to support high-growth IT companies in PEI (including the introduction of "Velocity", a new home for tech and tech-enabled start-ups), and roll-out of additional tactics to strengthen the IT sector overall.

Job brief

We are looking to hire a tenured leader and/or senior-level executive to guide Velocity forward, overseeing the key strategic and operational aspects of the organization, and working closely with the Board of Directors and tech community broadly.

Ultimately, the successful candidate will work with functional team members, member organizations, funding and ecosystem partners to help guide the refinement of a multi-year strategic plan, and lead its execution across a number of key priority / focus areas, most notably launching Velocity and its programming.

Requirements:

• Experience in an executive role within the IT industry.
• Outstanding communication skills across various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrates the ability to attract, align, develop and retain the diverse talent pool needed to meet and exceed organizational goals.
• Sound knowledge of non-profit governance best practices and demonstrable experience (or related) in rolling out across an organization.
• Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and how to get individuals motivated, engaged and involved to support key priorities.

Day-today responsibilities may include (but are not necessarily limited to):

• Provide leadership for the organization, community and ecosystem.
• Create, execute and support strategic direction of programming, projects and workshops with an immediate focus on Velocity (but with broader oversight into the overall IT Alliance community).
• Oversee Operations and non-profit elements of the organization
• Interact with the board to enable governance and overall operations
• Manage a dynamic team, member organizations/individuals, and volunteers to meet our growing community needs.
• Enable sponsorship, business development and outreach with public and private entities.
• Oversee the execution of special events (e.g. workshops) in the space and community at large.

Note: given the growth objectives of the IT Alliance and introduction of Velocity, there is a "scaling up" element to this role, allowing the desired individual to flex across a multitude of areas, playing a critical part in evolving the JD and overall team construction over time.

Education: Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: In-person (opportunity for remote work)

Salary range: $85,000 - 125,000 per annum
